2

DAY

To commence your Ali Bedni Bugyal Trek from Lohajung to Didna Village, you’ll first take a local vehicle to Kuling, a journey that lasts about 30 minutes. From Kuling, the trek starts with a downhill walk to the Neel Ganga river. After crossing the river, the ascent toward Didna Village begins. This segment of the trek takes you through a forest filled with rhododendrons, Himalayan bamboos and oaks, adding a vibrant natural backdrop to your trek. Once in Didna, a small village known for its quaint farms and fishing opportunities, you can explore the local area. In the evening, stroll to a viewpoint that offers sights of Wan Village, the Brahmatal summit, and a small section of Ali Bugyal, providing a panoramic glimpse into the surrounding beauty.

3

DAY

On Day 3, the trek from Didna Village to Ali Bugyal starts with a steep ascent through a dense forest of oak and rhododendron trees. This challenging first half of the trek is also your last chance to refill water at Tolpani, the final water point. As you push through the forest, the terrain gradually levels out and opens into expansive alpine meadows — Asia’s largest! The second half of the trek features a more gradual ascent, allowing you to enjoy the sprawling greenery and the open skies. As the evening approaches, one of the best parts of today’s trek occurs near the campsite, where you can witness a breathtaking sunset, painting the sky with vibrant hues that enhance the tranquil beauty of Ali Bugyal.

Today’s trek takes you from Ali Bugyal to Bedni Bugyal, where you’ll experience vast expanses of green meadows stretching under the sky. After exploring Bedni Bugyal, you’ll continue to the sacred Bedni Kund, a serene spot known for its reflective waters and spiritual significance. The journey then leads you through more picturesque landscapes as you make your way to Garoli Patal. Here, amidst dense forests, you’ll set up camp with a spectacular view of Mt. Trishul. From Bedni Top, the towering peaks of Nanda Ghunti and Trishul dominate the horizon, offering a close-up of the majestic Himalayas.

5

DAY

The last trekking day begins from Ghairoli Patal and winds through serene forest trails down to Wan. This leg of the journey allows you to immerse in the lush greenery and quiet ambiance of the forest as you gradually descend. Once in Wan, the trekking portion concludes, and you’ll take a drive back to Lohajung. This transition from the peaceful isolation of the trails to the more bustling base camp marks a reflective end to the trekking experience.
